Are you a rail training company, construction company or an individual looking for somewhere to carry out on-the-job training in a real-life setting?
Our charity has existing track work and construction work required to be carried on our site in order to continue to extend our future running line and further develop our site facilities. A partnership with the LMMR could be a perfect match for you.
We offer highly competitive rates for such opportunities and are able to provide public recognition of assistance received as well as promotion in the local press and national railway press. .
Some of the potential exercises could include the following tasks:
• Plant/machinery training and/or testing
• Groundworks and levelling
• Track laying
- Sleeper replacement/chair fitting/bolt fitting
- Ballasting
• Point-lever fitting
• Buffer-stops fitting
• Brick laying/structure construction
• Vegetation management

EYC Global Case Study
During 2021, the LMMR The Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway began a partnership with the UK Rail Training Company EYC Global to provide hands on training opportunities on its site at Cynheidre through a kick start scheme to create job placements for 16 – 24 year olds who would otherwise be at risk of long term unemployment.
After the course, the participant gains an NVQ level 2 Diploma in Rail Engineering Track Maintenance. This is a great of example of how the LMMR works collaboratively with rail industry organisations to offer a tailor made base to work from
