Volunteering Opportunities at the LMMR
We welcome volunteers of all kinds of skills, backgrounds, abilities and availability. You can choose what time you can commit, whether its a few days a year or a few days a week. Every little helps!
Community involvement and engagement really is at the heart of our project and we couldn't have achieved anything we have already without the unwavering support and kind help from our volunteers.
If our project is something you would be interested in getting involved with then why not get in touch?
The Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway is a new tourist attraction located in Cynheidre, near Llanelli that opened to the public in 2017, which opens on selected dates.
The next few years will see us further expand our operations with the opening of a new line extension and with it the need for new volunteers!
As an up and coming attraction we seek new members and volunteers
in all roles to take us forward, including:
-
Administrative staff (Booking office assistants, secretarial roles, Welsh language translation)
-
Event day preparation volunteers & stewards, buffet car staff
-
Site maintenance staff (Site improvements/upkeep, gardening, train and track repairs)
-
Operational staff (Current or Trainee Drivers, Guards, Shunters, Crossing Keepers) - full training provided
-
Event guides - for history talks/customer interaction
-
Skilled/Interested in restoration? Come and help us to restore our 1958 built Class 122 DMU no. 55019 to operational status! Urgently needed for the public to enjoy.
