Successful visit to 'The Greatest Gathering'

What a fantastic time we had at the Railway200 The Greatest Gathering at ALSTOM Derby Litchurch Lane and we are so proud to have been represented at this amazing event. We were delighted to see that so many people were able to learn about our project and some valuable networking was also carried out.
It was also the ultimate team-building exercise for our volunteer team, who put in a sterling job to ensure excellent customer service at all times.
The stand-out of the event for us though had to be the train simulator that we and The Cab Yard took to the event, which has been installed into the cab of a Class 442 EMU.
With massive thanks to TS Controllers for their ongoing support, we were able to offer taster sessions free of charge. To have a fully functional train simulator available to the public in an actual train cab is a UK first and even better, it is accessible to all.
We also took a Class 43 HST cab with us which is also accessible and we were thrilled to see the accessibility used to the fullest extent in both cabs during the event (thanks to Kieran for allowing us to use the photos of him using our ramp). The Class 442 CabSim will be moving to Cynheidre later this week and will be available to use during September.
This simulator is the first of what is planned to be a fleet of similar ones kitted out in various train cabs. A Class 47 diesel locomotive is next.
